Hello there, I’m Idris I. Ekungba, the proud founder of Upturn Aero Group, an all-round aviation company.
My journey in aviation, fueled by a deep passion for this dynamic industry, has been focused on creating an environment where safety, innovation, and client satisfaction intersect.
I began with hands-on roles as a flight instructor before gaining experience in private charter operations, where I did more than flying and gained valuable operational experience. I am currently a Line Check Airman and Captain at one of American Airlines wholly owned companies, where I ensure the highest safety standards of the pilot group and ensure operational compliance. I am also an alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with an MBA in Aviation Management and Project Management.
Beyond the cockpit, I am passionate about philanthropy and mentorship. I am also the founder of AeroSTEM Fellowship, a non-profit organization teaching African kids STEM through aviation.
